Passing afternoon

Heard this song at the end of the episode of the season finale of House MD. It was an emotional scene, the main character, a very miserable yet brilliant doctor, House basically indirectly caused the death of his one & only best friend's current girlfriend, both doctors. At the end of it, House wondered if he will ever be forgiven.

The song reflects the passing of memories and yet whatever happens does have life-time effects. How many times have we reflected and think back on all those foolish things we have said or done and wonder 'what if?'. Or even in the present, when we fear just as House feared for his precious friendship which reminds us that what we have now, is very precious. We should treasure every single moment of our life, our family, our friends and most importantly to me, the unbreakable bond with the one and true living God. I walked the valley of shadow of death exactly 4 years ago, truly, life is fragile, how much more should we all live fervently for His glory before we pass on to the greater good?

"There are things that drift away like our endless, numbered days" but let us the elected shy not away from Him just as Adam & Eve hid away the moment they sin. He is omnipresent and that should remind us that He is with us always, His intimacy would remind us of His love and prompt us to love Him back wholeheartedly, would we not?

A sister-in-christ is going back to her homeland and this card was made just for her. She may not remember us 20 years from now but surely, the time here have not been in vain for memories may pass but whatever happens in our life, specifically hers here in Singapore will definitely have a life time effect. May God guide and blessed her in her life ahead.

Lyrics below:
There are times that walk from you like some passing afternoon
Summer warmed the open window of her honeymoon
And she chose a yard to burn but the ground remembers her
Wooden spoons, her children stir her Bougainvillea blooms

There are things that drift away like our endless, numbered days
Autumn blew the quilt right off the perfect bed she made
And she's chosen to believe in the hymns her mother sings
Sunday pulls its children from their piles of fallen leaves

There are sailing ships that pass all our bodies in the grass
Springtime calls her children 'till she let's them go at last
And she's chosen where to be, though she's lost her wedding ring
Somewhere near her misplaced jar of Bougainvillea seeds

There are things we can't recall, blind as night that finds us all
Winter tucks her children in, her fragile china dolls
But my hands remember hers, rolling 'round the shaded ferns
Naked arms, her secrets still like songs I'd never learned

There are names across the sea, only now I do believe
Sometimes, with the windows closed, she'll sit and think of me
But she'll mend his tattered clothes and they'll kiss as if they know
A baby sleeps in all our bones, so scared to be alone
