Just remember: The 4 times I almost died

1 Samuel 12

24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things He hath done for you.

In the context of the chapter, Samuel was reminding the people of Israel to fear God and to continue to serve God truthfully giving them good reasons to - to consider the great things God had done for them : namely, saving them from egypt, leading them into canaan, winning wars that seemed impossible, from nomadic life to setting up a kingdom...

What about me? What can I remember? The greatest gift that God can give us before even salvation and all that stuff is simply - Life.

Our life and death, all of it lies in the hands of our almighty God. Snuffing out 1 ~ 100000000 lifes is easy peasy. Yet we all live on despite all our sins and transgression against God as a human race. And I remember how my life could have ended so many times.

Primary school - choked on a whole egg, nearly suffocated to death yet God sent someone to unknowingly hit me hard on the back just to 'greet' me. Coincidence not.

Secondary school - Was in an SBS bus and it overshot a turning point, reversed in a narrow road, and the back of the bus hit the bus stop, shards of the rear glass panel broke and one of the pieces narrowly flew passed my head.

Junior College - 2 things on the same day. I crossed the zebra crossing, nearly got mowed over by a car whose driver had stopped but he accidentally hit the accelerator. nearly 2-3 minutes later, I walked underneath the staircase of a HDB flat, a big cucumber(of all things) fell down and splattered just in front of me.

Post JC & Army times - I went through the A&E of the hospital like it was my second home, had a major surgery, wheeled to ICU, scared the living lights out of my mum. I thought the end was near...but it was a trial.

Just remembering my life could have ended any moment in the above situations and I would press on in service for God in my church, in my life.

What about you? What do you remember?
